Home buying

Check a Zillow or Redfin home price against your own mortgage numbers

A listing price is a starting point. Use your rate, down payment and property costs to compare the estimated monthly payment.

Open the free mortgage calculator

Run the numbers for a home you found

  1. Copy the home’s asking price into the mortgage calculator. Manual property prices stay exactly as entered.
  2. Enter your down payment, loan term and lender rate, or use the clearly dated benchmark as a planning reference.
  3. Replace the property-tax and insurance estimates with verified figures. Enter HOA dues and compare any applicable mortgage insurance or program fees.
  4. Save scenarios to compare loan types or different homes, then download the comparison.

Manual calculators, saved scenarios on your device and reports remain free.

Import a property from a listing link

The Premium property-import flow accepts a full Zillow home-details or Redfin property link. It reads the address and searches RentCast; it does not scrape either website. A unique exact match, including the unit number, can fill the mortgage calculator automatically. If there are multiple matches, select the correct listing.

Imported asking prices are not rounded. Reported HOA dues can be filled, but unknown taxes, insurance and other costs still need verification. A missing listing does not overwrite your scenario.

Availability: Premium purchases are currently paused while search capacity is verified. You can create a free account, but it does not unlock paid searches. Use manual entry now or view Premium pricing and availability.

What to check beyond the asking price

Loan payment

Your loan amount, interest rate and term determine principal and interest. Compare the same loan assumptions when looking at different homes.

Property costs

Use the property’s tax bill and an insurance quote when available. State tax averages are planning references, not a property-specific assessment.

HOA and mortgage insurance

Check HOA dues separately. Low down payments and different loan programs can add mortgage insurance or fees.

Common questions

Can I use a Zillow or Redfin home price in this calculator?

Yes. Enter the asking price in the free mortgage calculator, then set your own down payment, loan term, rate and property costs. No account is needed for manual entries.

Can I paste a Zillow or Redfin property link?

The Premium import flow can read an address from a full Zillow home-details or Redfin property link and look it up through RentCast. Premium purchases are currently paused. Short share links and search-result pages are not supported.

Does a link import Zillow or Redfin’s payment estimate?

No. The link supplies the address for an independent RentCast listing lookup. A unique exact sale-address match can fill the asking price and reported HOA. It does not scrape either website or import its payment estimate.

Why might my monthly payment differ from a listing estimate?

Different mortgage rates, down payments, loan terms, property taxes, insurance, mortgage insurance or HOA dues change the payment. Enter verified costs and a lender quote when you have them.

Will the calculator tell me what a lender will approve?

No. It provides a planning estimate, not loan approval or a guarantee of affordability. A lender separately reviews eligibility, credit, income, debts and the property.

Everyday Finance is an independent calculator website and is not affiliated with Zillow or Redfin. Listing availability and asking prices can change. Results are estimates, not lender quotes.
